Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-21

Acceptance

By creating a Typelets account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Typelets on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

Typelets is in beta. We may add, change, or remove features. Material breaking changes will be announced in advance when feasible.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised so we can lock it.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction (in most places, that means at least 13, often 16 or 18 - know your local rules).

Your content, your rights

You own the code, files, drawings, and other content you create or upload to your workspaces. We do not claim any ownership over them.

To run the service - sync your edits between collaborators, store snapshots, execute the code you ask us to run, render previews - you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, copy, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing Typelets to you and the collaborators you invite. The license ends when you delete the content.

If you make a workspace public (shareScope=public), you are granting visitors the ability to view it.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, we may use them to improve Typelets freely, without any obligation or compensation to you.

Privacy

Your use of Typelets is also governed by our Privacy policy, which explains what we collect and how we handle it. By using the service you acknowledge that policy.

Acceptable use

You may not use Typelets to:

  • Run code that violates the law, including child sexual abuse material, malware distribution, credential theft, unauthorized network scanning, or attacks against third parties.
  • Mine cryptocurrency, run sustained CPU/GPU workloads disproportionate to interactive coding, or otherwise abuse our compute.
  • Impersonate someone else, harvest data without consent, or send spam.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass the sandbox or rate limits.
  • Resell access to Typelets, in whole or in part, without written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with notice when feasible.

If you believe content on Typelets infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: the work you say is infringed, where the infringing content is, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized. We respond to valid notices, including by removing content and terminating repeat infringers where appropriate.

Service limits

Each workspace executes user code inside a sandboxed container with CPU, memory, disk, and network limits. Container lifetimes are bounded; idle containers are evicted.

During beta, all features are free. Reasonable use is expected. If your usage materially exceeds the cost of providing the service, we may rate-limit you and reach out before taking further action.

Fees and paid plans

Typelets is free during beta. We plan to introduce paid plans; when we do, the price, billing cycle, and refund terms will be shown before you subscribe, and we will not start charging an existing free account without notice and your consent.

Availability and warranty

Typelets is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We aim for high availability but make no SLA during beta.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Typelets and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising out of your use of the service.

Where local law does not allow this limitation, our aggregate liability is capped at the greater of (a) fees you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) US$50.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Typelets and its operators harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

Termination

You can stop using Typelets at any time and delete your account from in-app settings.

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, with notice when feasible. On termination we will delete your data per the Privacy policy retention windows.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, unless a mandatory local law in your jurisdiction applies instead.

Disputes

If a dispute arises, contact us first at [email protected]; most issues can be resolved informally. Any dispute that is not resolved that way will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and Typelets consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

Export and sanctions

You may not use Typelets in violation of export-control or economic-sanctions laws, and you confirm you are not located in, or acting on behalf of, a country or party subject to those restrictions.

Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy and Security policies, are the entire agreement between you and Typelets about the service and supersede any prior understanding. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor, for example in a merger or sale of the business.

Changes

If we change these Terms in a way that affects you materially, we will email registered users and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
