These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Typelets, a secure notes application operated by Bata Labs, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Typelets at app.typelets.com, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Typelets, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws
• All information you provide is accurate and current

2. Description of Service

Typelets is a secure, encrypted notes application that provides:

• End-to-end encryption - Your notes are encrypted on your device before transmission
• Cross-device synchronization - Access your encrypted notes across multiple devices
• Organization tools - Folders, tags, and search functionality
• Zero-knowledge architecture - We cannot read your notes content

3. User Accounts and Security

Account Creation

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• One person may not maintain multiple free accounts

Account Security

• You are solely responsible for your account security and backup keys
• We cannot recover your notes if you lose your password and backup keys
• Use strong, unique passwords and enable available security features
• Keep your backup keys in a secure location

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Typelets responsibly and legally. You may NOT use Typelets to:

• Store or share illegal, harmful, or malicious content
• Violate any laws or regulations
• Harass, threaten, or harm others
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise our systems
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools to access the service without permission
• Store content that violates others' privacy or confidentiality

5. Your Content and Privacy

Content Ownership

• You retain full ownership of all content you create in Typelets
• We claim no ownership rights over your notes or data
• You can export or delete your content at any time

Our Privacy Commitment

• We cannot read your notes due to end-to-end encryption
• We will never sell or share your personal information
• Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest

6. Subscription Plans and Billing

Free Plan

• Limited storage capacity (100MB)
• Core encryption and security features included
• No credit card required

Paid Plans

• Billed monthly or annually as selected
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled
• No refunds for partial months, but you keep access until period ends
• Price changes will be communicated 30 days in advance

Cancellation

• You can cancel your subscription at any time
• Access continues until the end of your billing period
• Your data remains accessible even after downgrading to free

7. Service Availability and Modifications

Service Availability

• We strive for high uptime but cannot guarantee 100% availability
• Maintenance windows will be communicated when possible
• We are not liable for temporary service interruptions

Service Modifications

• We may modify features or functionality with reasonable notice
• We will not remove core encryption or security features
• Major changes will be communicated via email and app notifications

8. Intellectual Property

• Typelets and its technology are owned by Bata Labs, LLC
• You receive a limited license to use the service for its intended purpose
• You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our software
• Our trademarks and branding remain our exclusive property

9. Data Backup and Loss

Important: Due to our zero-knowledge encryption:

• We cannot recover your data if you lose your password and backup keys
• You are responsible for maintaining your own additional backups if desired
• We maintain system backups for technical recovery, but these are encrypted and unusable without your keys
• Consider exporting important notes periodically as an additional backup

10. Termination

Termination by You

• You may delete your account at any time
• All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
• This action cannot be undone

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Remain inactive for extended periods (with notice)
• Are involved in fraudulent payment activity

11. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service Disclaimers

• Typelets is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee that the service will meet all your requirements
• While we implement strong security, no system is 100% secure
• You use the service at your own risk

Limitation of Liability

• Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• This includes data loss, business interruption, or lost profits
• Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of Typelets
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you store in the service

13. Governing Law and Disputes

• These Terms are governed by the laws of New Jersey, United States
• Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Jersey
• We encourage contacting us directly to resolve issues before legal action

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally:

• Material changes will be communicated via email and app notification
• Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account
